As a former science teacher, special education teacher and special education administrator, Dr. Tucker has worked with a variety of student populations and has a particular concern for students who are most at risk of school failure. This special education background permeates everything Tucker does. As a member of the Administration and Supervision program area, she now works with individuals who are pursuing positions as school administrators in both public and private schools. Her goal is to develop future leaders who will be true advocates for all of the students in their schools. Research interests include teacher effectiveness, performance assessment, teacher portfolios, the legal context for teacher evaluation, and the nature of the principalship.
